Women of Carbon Los Angeles Screening and Panel Discussion

In collaboration with AIA Los Angeles Women in Architecture and AIA Los Angeles COTE, The William J. Worthen Foundation hosted a Women of Carbon documentary screening followed by a panel discussion—spotlighting the women redefining materials, methods, and leadership for a decarbonized built environment.

The panel discussion included Rena Simon (ZGF, one of the architects responsible for the Portland Airport renovation featured in the Women of Carbon film), Sophie Pennetier (founder of Digne), Tara Barauskas (Executive Director, Community Corp, Santa Monica), Heidi Creighton (Senior Design Manager, City of Santa Monica), and Sarah Rege (Senior Sustainability Director, Webcor), moderated by Esmeralda Ward (NAC Architecture).

Women of Carbon San Francisco Screening and Panel

The William J. Worthen Foundation collaborated with AIA San Francisco to bring a screening of the Women of Carbon documentary. The film was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Pauline Souza, featuring Rena Simon, Erica Spiritos, Frances Yang, and Katie Ackerly, all changemakers whose innovation, leadership, and care for the planet are reshaping construction.
